About The Author

Andrew Sparber is a local historian known for authoring historical books about Allegany County as well as articles for Allegany Magazine and the Cumberland Times News. He has also set up exhibits at the Allegany Museum. Andrew has a background as a psychiatric/mental health clinical nurse specialist and continues in a part time private practice. His research background comes from work he conducted at the National Institutes of Health. He has a wife Karla and two sons, Keith and Zac.
