Moore's latest work, Five Days: The Fiery Reckoning of an American City, a kaleidoscopic account of five days in the life of a city on the edge, told through eight characters on the frontlines of the protests that overtook Baltimore after the death of Freddie Gray.

Moore’s talk will also highlight his earlier New York Times Bestseller, The Other Wes Moore as well as its young adult version Discovering Wes Moore. These titles chronicle the lives of two kids named Wes Moore who both grew up fatherless in similar Baltimore neighborhoods. The author’s journey took him from wayward inner city youth to decorated combat veteran, Rhodes Scholar, White House fellow, social entrepreneur, and business leader while the other Wes Moore ended up convicted of murder and serving a life sentence.

Presented in association with Anne Arundel County Public Library, Baltimore County Public Library, Carroll County Public Library, Howard County Library System, Kent County Public Library, Prince George's County Memorial Library System, and Ruth Enlow Library of Garrett County.

This program is also supported by The C. Burr Artz Trust, The Ausherman Family Foundation, Frederick Arts Council, The Delaplaine Foundation, Curious Iguana, and Plamondon Hospitality.
