Program Description

Event Details

Help us create a community collection of memories around the 1964 Savage Mountain B-52 crash.

From 4pm - 5pm, Bucky Shriver will be giving a presentation and Q&A on the B-52 crash.

From 5pm - 6pm, Feel free to socialize and share memories! Patrons will have the chance to submit written memory accounts of the event, write/type their accounts, or register for an appointment to come in and do an audio recording of their memories. Appointments to record can be made online here

The recordings will take place throughout the week. After, library staff will be transcribing any memories collected. We will be putting them together and getting them bound into a physical book that will then be housed in the History Room at the George's Creek Library. Audio recordings will be uploaded to the ACLS YouTube channel.

The library makes every effort to ensure our programs can be enjoyed by all. If you have any concerns about accessibility or need to request specific accommodations, please contact the Programming Department at 301-777-1200.
