Program Description

Event Details

The ACLS library staff are always compassionate and attuned to the needs of our communities. This November, they’ve worked hard — and quickly — to respond to two growing concerns in our area.

With news that SNAP benefits will be on pause starting in November, and that the local animal shelter is facing a difficult time, our staff have mobilized a special initiative: Fall Food for Fines: Paws and Plates Edition.

Throughout November, we’re collecting non-perishable food items for the Western Maryland Food Bank and Purina pet food for the animal shelter. In return, we’ll waive library fines from your account — with no limit this year! Even if you don’t have fines, you’re invited to donate and make a difference!

  • One non-perishable food item = $1.00 waived
  • Purina Dry dog or cat food: One pound = $1.00 waived
  • Canned dog and cat food: One can = $1.00 waived

Donations are accepted during operating hours, please check your local library hours before visiting.  Please do not leave donations outside or in book drops.
