George's Creek, Washington Street, and Westernport Libraries Closed

It has been a great year with many special moments for our community and the library. We have enjoyed seeing everyone and sharing our gifts and talents to make your year special, too. Over the Christmas holiday week, our Frostburg, LaVale, and South Cumberland libraries will be open as scheduled. This gives all our library staff the flexibility to enjoy the holiday while continuing to offer essential library service to the county. We wish you and yours a happy and healthy new year.

Books and DVDs

Requests will be filled to the best of our abilities up to December 21.

Plan ahead!  Place your requests by 12/15 so you have the best chance of them arriving before the holiday.
Stock Up! Get a couple of extra books and movies to get you through the extended break.  DVDs checkout for 3 weeks now! 
Pick-Up Options! If your request is ready for pickup on the days your library is closed, you will get a telephone call offering a different location to pick it up. You can always ask for it to be delivered to the original library and pick it up on or after January 3, 2023. Book drops will remain open.

Computers, Internet, and Digital Collections

Get Connected! Check out a Chromebook to stay connected online over the holiday break. Use Your Device, Use Our Wi-Fi (outside the library). All library locations have 24/7 Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi extends to the exterior and often times into the library parking lots.
Instant Downloads! Hoopla and Libby have a wide range of items available including eBooks, movies, music, magazines, and comics.
Streaming! Create an account on Kanopy for a great selection of movies, television shows, and documentaries for instant steaming. Kanopy Kids offers unlimited checkouts.
