Program Description
Event Details
Immerse yourself in an evening where visual and literary art come together to inspire and engage. This special event celebrates the opening of an exhibit featuring six community-created watercolor paintings, each paired with an ekphrastic poem that brings the artwork to life through vivid language and interpretation.
These paintings were crafted in a beginner’s watercolor class led by Ally Opel at the Washington Street Library. Adding to the evening’s artistic experience are poetic interpretations of the featured works by Emily Guardado Toledo, an English major at Frostburg State University.
Ekphrastic poetry, an expressive literary form that describes and interprets visual art, offers a deeper connection between words and imagery. Witness how poetry transforms paintings into rich narratives and emotions.
Join us for a night of creativity, poetry, and community. Refreshments will be provided.
