Program Description

Event Details

Paint or draw a shelter animal or pet for this charity event! Paints, crayons, cardstock, and canvases will be supplied. Please note that you do not have to give a donation to participating in the art process of this event!

If you paint or draw a shelter animal, your creation will be given to the person who adopts the pet.

If you paint or draw a photo of a pet, your creation will be given to the pet owner.

Pet owners: Want our artists to do a portrait of your pet? For a generous $20 donation to the Allegany County Animal Shelter, you will receive a one-of-a-kind portrait of your furry friend! Our Pet Portrait Studio is open to artists of all ages and talents, and portraits will be assigned to volunteer artists at random, providing a wealth of unique pieces from professional to more "abstract" portraits from our little artists in training! We appreciate your kind support of the animal shelter, the library , and our local artists and future artists!

Send a donation and a picture of your pet with your contact information to the Allegany County Animal Shelter BEFORE June 28. Once your pet picture is created, you will be notified to come pick up your pet portrait at the Animal Shelter. Contact the Animal Shelter at info@ashelterofhope.com. Please provide your full name, pet’s name and phone number.

Accompanying Adults

This program is designed for children and accompanying adults. Please plan to be attend and be engaged with your child for this program. Drop offs will not be permitted.
